Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is a Chamber of Commerce?  It is a membership organization operated by and for business and commercial interests.  It is the central agency that corrals the forces of the community for its improvement and development -- in business and in industry.

How do I become a Chamber member?  Becoming a Chamber member is simple!  Businesses and organizations are eligible to belong to the Chamber.  Dues are structured so even the smallest business can be a member.  Just contact the Chamber office at 770-832-2446 to request an application, or download the form from this site and return it by mail or fax to:  Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, 200 Northside Drive, Carrollton, Georgia 30117.  Fax (770) 832-1300.

If you wish to discuss how the Chamber can support your business or to learn more about the Chamber benefits, call to arrange a meeting with our Membership Sales Associate Cara Welch.  A membership dues schedule is also available on this site for your convenience.

What are the benefits of membership?  Benefits of membership are both tangible and intangible for overall improvement of our business community and the community as a whole.  The following benefits are offered to Chamber members:  business listing on our website; business networking occasions, including Business After Hours and Wake Up Call and special events; opportunites for great involvement and networking, such as event committees; our monthly newsletter; promotional opportunities, including exclusive and discounted advertising and sponsorships; Chamber membership decal and nametag, identifying you as a credible and respectable business in the community; business referrals; online job posting service; discounts on workman's compensation insurance with our Drugs Don't Work program; and business card and brochure display.

How may businesses are served by the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce?  Approximately 700 organizations and individual members belong to the Carroll Chamber, representing thousands and thousands of employees.  While nearly all of the area's largest employers are members of our Chamber, 85-90% of Chamber members are defined as small business (250 or fewer employees).

How can I find out about Chamber events?  The Chamber's monthly member newsletter includes a monthly calendar noting all scheduled events.  A complete listing of Chamber events can also be found online on this site.  In addition, we send reminders to members in a weekly eblast to our members.

How can I get the most out of my membership?  Members who see the biggest benefits from Chamber membership are those who frequently attend meetings, join committees and participate in Chamber programs. Fortunately, the chamber makes it easy to learn how to be involved by offering Chamber 101 workshops.  Contact the Chamber office to find out when the next workshop is scheduled.

What are the committees and how can I join?  There is an event committee for most every major Chamber event, as well as the following program committees: ambassador committee, legislative committee, education and workforce committee, business development committee; and existing industry committee.  Each committee is led by a chair.  To find out who to contact to join a committee, please contact the Chamber office.

Will the Chamber provide me with referrals?  The Chamber never hesitates to refer Chamber member businesses.  In addition, thousands of visitors visit our website and utilizes our online directory each month.

How are member event hosts and locations for the Networking Events determined?  Business after Hours is our most popular event to host and is the first member event to fill up.  The host provides the location, food and beverage for 30+ people.  The hosting fee is $150 and can be split with one or more members.
