Martin Luther King Parade and Celebration in Carrollton. Set up for the parade begins at 8 am and the parade will begin at 10 am.  This years theme is Multicultural People Bringing About Diversity and Unity. Parade lineup location is US Hwy 27 near the Dairy Queen. Floats are encouraged and will be judged based on the theme. All floats must be set up by 9 am. Entry fees per float $45, per vehicle $35. Citizen's Academy Time: 6-8 PM and meets on Thursdays for 10 weeks. 30 spots available. Sign up at Police Dept.  Our academy will introduce you to our officers and many of them will talk about their areas of expertise. Some of the subjects to be covered are: firearms, traffice enforcement, crime scene, investigations, etc.  Participants will be allowed to ride along with officers on patrol and see what we see firsthand. We will also go to the firearms range and you can shoot if you want to, but it's not mandatory. You can try your hand with our Laser and see how we determine if a person is speeding or not. 24th Georgia Kiwanis Art and Music Showcase  The showcase begins at 3:00 pm and features art and music showcase winners from Kiwanis Clubs throughout the state.
